Melinda Kerr has worked in the communications industry for over 20 years. Having started her career at FCB Melbourne as a junior copywriter, she has gone on to work at the best Advertising Agencies in Melbourne. Including MOJO, Grey Worldwide, JWT, BADJAR, Leonardi and Curtis, DDB Worldwide, Clemenger Harvie Edge, Leonardi, and McCannErickson.
Her career has seen her work variously as a Senior Writer, Art Director, Creative Group Head and Creative Director of the boutique Agency, Leonardi Advertising.
She has advised on Strategic Marketing issues at Senior and Management level. Melinda has won many national and international awards for her work and sat on the board of the Melbourne Art and Design Club for two years.
Her work has spanned many consumer and B2B categories including, Federal Government, DuPont Carpets, Meyer Cookware, BMW, Ford Australia, Honda, Holden and MINI.
She has worked on many FMCG products including Cottee’s Cordial, Cottee’s Jam, SOLO, Cadbury Schweppes, Maxwell House, Kraft, Arnott’s, Vegemite, Vitasoy, Europe Bars, Red Tulip, Heinz, IXL, Nando’s, HUON Aquaculture, King Island Dairy, and Southcape Fine Foods (to name a few). Melinda has extensive knowledge and experience in communicating to the trade (both route and grocery) along with communicating with consumers.
Services clients include, Commander Communications, Telstra, Qantas, Australian Resorts and Club Med.
She has had extensive experience with both Federal and Sate Government departments, and has worked on financial accounts such as IOOF, Colonial Bank and Bendigo Bank.
Melinda has also worked in environmental communications, most recently for the Acland Street Traders Association (St Kilda Village) creating events, viral communications and 3D communications (outside traditional paid media).
Melinda has worked in all mediums including traditional and ‘new digital formats.’ She has extensive understanding of guerilla and digital communications, embracing 21st century methods. She has launched and facilitated blogs and is heavily involved and active in the on line space.
Melinda founded and ran Joe Public Communications for six years from 2003-2009.
Melinda has a Bachelor of Arts (Media Studies) and a Graduate Diploma in Multimedia Design from Monash University.
She has also illustrated 4 best selling children’s books with Jane Skarratt, has had numerous photographic essays published, and is currently a contributing staff writer for DESKTOP Magazine.
